The Midwest Clinic
on: April 17, 2006, 01:17:27 AM
Our band (the Oregon Symphonic Band) has been invited to perform a concert at the midwest clinic held in Chicago every year just before Christmas - has anybody ever been to this convention? I understand it is huge - and apparently high quality? I guess I'd better practice, eh?

It is huge, and is very high quality. I went once, and can't wait to go again. It is really cool. It is really cool. Do I need to say it is really cool?
The vendor displays are really nice. You get to see (and play!) tons of orchestral instruments and products. (Not much in the piano field though.) The concerts put on by porfessional bands like the military ones are very nice. Most of the talks and workshops are directed towards school band directors, but there are a few directed at particular instruments that are pretty nice for the musicians.
The bands they have come are all very, very good, so I guess you'd better practice.
