One can't be sure, but it looks to me like he puts the stuff in the side of his cheek if you look closely when it comes back.
The fact that talking with a biljard ball inside in your mouth is unlikely is irrelevant.
EDIT: What I don't get is how the sugar stays dry. In his mouth, or in his stomach, it would surely get wet. Lungs are fairly dry aren't they?
I agree, with crabface, That's why I have a problem with the idea that it's in the stomach, the fish would be dead almost instantly in the stomach because of the very strong HCL- no way could a fish survive in there. I can't go into the stomach and it cannot be going into the lungs because he would develop pneumonia very quickly with even small foreign objects in his lungs. The lungs are made up of very tiny, delicate sacs (bronchioles) and inhaling that sort of thing would be deadly.
So...... Where the hell did it go?
