Hello,

I am a freelance journalist currently researching a story about high-end digital pianos, for possible publication in The New York Times, where my work has appeared recently. I am interested in talking to people who own Yamaha Disklavier or other brand name digital pianos that cost at least $32,000 at the time of purchase and include the built-in electro-mechanical components that allow the piano to "play itself."  I am also interested in talking to piano teachers who may or may not own such pianos themselves, but who teach students that do (at the students' homes), as well as advanced piano players who have been trained and performed mostly on acoustic pianos, but who have experienced first-hand advanced digital pianos.

If you own, teach, or have performed on such piano and have an interesting story to share, or an opinion of how the "play itself" technology may impact perceptions and performances of piano music, please email me at gergana.koleva@gmail.com and I'll be happy to discuss further.

Thank you!
