Masterclasses on DVD?
on: April 23, 2006, 09:36:00 PM
Are there any materials like this?

I know there are performances of course, but masterclasses?  Teaching tips?

I'm looking for DVD or at least audio format.

I don't know if it's on DVD, but there's the Barenboim on Beethoven circling around forums.  I heard there's one of Bolet but i'm not sure if it's available.
If you want a book, 'pianists at play' by Dean Elder has written examples of masterclasses with a few of the greats.
Never look at the trombones. You'll only encourage them.

Here's a few DVD's of masterclasses taught by my late former piano teacher.  I only have the lecture about rhythm, but I need to buy the others as well... someday.
