I'm guessing your talking about ARCT in Canada.

It stands for Associate to the Royal Conservatory of [Toronto I think] in Canada.

The Performance ARCT requires you to play a bunch of pieces from different categories, hopefully ending up to be around 60 minutes...

Teacher's ARCT has a series of tests, including a mock teaching experience and a performance test.

People say there are other forms of the ARCT diploma, but I havn't looked into any.

So the ARCT is basically a diploma, but there are different types of this diploma.

If anything I said was wrong, please correct me, I'm pretty sure that's right tho...   ;)
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

You're right, nanabush. You can also get ARCTs in Theory, Composition, or both. My teacher had at least three... :P

Thanks Nana and Abell:
It seemsio like their are various different organizations.  Do you use any of these to help your students? If so, what do you use?  I have never went though this approach.  What about the AIM tests?  Does anyone know a little about it?
I'm thinking it would be good for motivation
thanks

I'm not sure I understand your question...can you rephrase it?

I send many of my students to RCM exams -- is that what you mean?
