How many people look in the mirror and really take a good look?
"In the Stranger's Eyes"

Re: Reflections -- graphic pictures of monsters and gouls
Reply #4 on: April 28, 2006, 04:58:38 PM
Okay, I am sorry, but these are really freaky picures to me and once I get an image in my mind it is nearly impossible for me to erase.  So, I don't have to look... that's fine-- from now on I won't.  But, I had no idea judging from the title of this thread that it was going to contain graphic pictures of monsters and gouls.

Do you think you could be kind enough to indicate that in the title so people who would rather not look even once at these pictures do not stumble upon them as did I ?  If not, I guess I will just have to refrain from looking at anything you post, johnny-boy, just in case.

Just an honest request.

Thanks,
m1469

I had a request to remove my monster pics or at least give warning in the subject. I aim to please.

I'm aware not everyone likes horror film graphics (though I see nothing wrong with fictional horror creatures - it's just entertainment to me).

I left old "Zach" in the first post. Certainly no one would object to him. BTW, Zach is still alive and doing radio in NYC (at 82). I watched him on TV every week as a child.

It's funny how violent acts are blamed partially on film, video games, etc. I grew up with a steady diet of horror flicks and I'm the most non-violent person possible. I don't even kill spiders when I find them inside. I transport them outside.

Best, John ;)

Well, that is considerate of you John, but note that I did not ask you to take them down (if you were actually referring to my request).  I simply asked that you post a warning within the thread title.  And anyway, my beef is not because I think it promotes violence.

Thanks,

Understood m1469. Better to take offensive graphics down if I want anyone to listen to the music. BTW, the music isn't violent. Here are the lyrics and link to the music.

Best, John :)

In the Stranger’s Eyes
Lyrics: Cal Francis DiFalco
Music: John Lawrence Schick

I saw him look right through me
As though I wasn’t there
It was as if he knew me
I saw it in his glare

I sensed a pang of danger
A feeling of alarm
And in this mystic stranger
I sensed a troubled charm

I reached so I might touch him
A risk I couldn’t pass
And as I moved to clutch him
His hand felt just like glass

I moved a step toward him
Brazen in my fear
And his advance afforded
A gesture too severe

Whatever courage found me
Fell prey to his assail
His presence quite astounding
Left me frozen there

The horror of that minute
Had left the action clear
I lost myself within it
And broke the bloody mirror

Here's Zach's website. I grew up with Zach. He's one of my heroes. You could say he made me what I am today. ::)

I posted this link a couple posts back gruf. It contains his bio. He's a person - and handsome at that.  He introduced horror flicks many years ago. Very mild compared to today’s standards.

One would think you’d be much more offended by some of the opinions around here. It must be difficult for you to watch TV if a mild picture like Zach’s freaks you out.

I have fond childhood memories of old Zach.
