First Recital in Nearly a Decade
on: December 05, 2003, 11:23:14 PM
This past Tuesday December 2, I played my first recital since June 5, 1994, when I was eight years old.  (I have played the piano in public many times, mostly in church, just not in a recital context.)  I had only eleven days' notice from my teacher; he took me to the recital hall a few days before the recital to practice on the Steinway, the best piano I have ever played.  There were about 25 performers on the program; they are the students of the Piano Pedagogy 1 interns at the university where it took place.  I played:

J. S. Bach: Chaconne from Partita in D Minor (shortened arr.)

Brahms: Sarabande and Gavotte in A Minor

The performance was really fun.  It was my most memorable performing experience to date.

Signed, Thomas
It's GREAT to be a classical musician!
