To play Chopins 10/12 in octaves. I know there are bigger better things out there. Its just for fun...

Try to use your right foot to play the third octave, that would be good.

Ravel Jeux d'eau, or Tocatta from tombeau de Couperin. Either one of these in my spare time in the near future, when I feel I am up to the challenge.

edit: originally wrote sonatine, but meant jeux d'eau
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

What about OC? At least that would ensure that you have plenty of "spare time" at your disposal...

I feared that you might not. Not to worry. I just thought that some people - possibly including you - might like to be able to have that much spare time...

It's odd how the time we have to spare is held on our hands. I would much prefer to keep it at home for safekeeping, I don't want people taking it from me when I'm about town.
Currently learning:
Liszt- Consolation No.3
J.W.Hässler- Sonata No.6 in C, 2nd mvt
Glière- No.10 from 12 Esquisses, Op.47
Saint-Saens- VII Aquarium
Mozart- Fantasie KV397<br /

hehehe... ive read lots of your posts and i find them extremely amusing, in a side splittingly mild sort of way... almost subtle but daring to go that little extra...

why dont you actually learn something proper? if you have enough spare time to do something ridiculous like that, then you clearly have too much spare time

Theres a story that Mister Liszt himself found 10/12 too easy and played the left hand in octaves too :)

and he played the thirds etudes with octaves in the right hand i heard... that would be impossibly difficult... i cant even do the first 2 bars with my left hand on it's own...

i almost wish there was some kind of spare time pension where we put all our spare time and then use it up when were older.... we cud just work solidly for 20 years which is probably what it amounts to with all the faffing around, and spend the rest of our years doing f all!

I concur! Though Tony Blair will probably mess it up as well as the current pension, and we'll end up not getting it until we're 70, which means 50 odd years of solid work for not that many left of faffing. But 50 odd years of solid working will probably kill us before we get to spend our free time, so it then goes to the government, and they don't need any more of it.

Wouldn't it be cool if everyone in England - or Europe, or even the whole world - saved up their spare time and used it all at once to stop time. That would be really helpful for us as it will decrease our chances of living through a global warming disaster :P

Tompilk: I do try ;D
