Not a real difficult piece, but "TOa Wild Rose" by McDowell is very romantic.

If they are women who know little about piano playing, how about Grieg's Wedding Dat at Troldhaugen - splashy, brilliant but not at all difficult. Lovely huggy-kissy middle section, too.

the old standby: Chopin's nocturne 9/2.

Guys, he is asking for a romantic song. Not a piano piece from the romantic era.

Serenade by Schubert :) for Vocal Solo
For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)

I think you're right, prometheus!
Maybe what threw us is he was wanting it to be difficult.
If you're looking for a romantic song - the women really don't care who wrote it, it's what speaks to their hearts.
like My Funny Valentine, Everything I Love, I Remember You,
There are so many beautiful love songs out there
 - In Niagra
- Close Your Eyes
 - Don't let me be lonely tonight
 - A life without regrets
 - Unforgettable
 to name a few

He is using the term 'song' as so many others do, misapplying the term to a piano piece  :D

try some cole porter (and get someone to sing the songs while you play).  'you do somthing to me' comes to mind.
