my son told me yesterday that he thinks that our car registration should be a number on our driver's license so that if anyone asks for license and registration  - they are easily found together (thankfully, he hasn't been asked this yet). 

anything else you wish was streamlined (besides tax codes).

your sons idea would never work. people change cars and have multiple cars.

true, but how many cars do people usually own?  you could have two easily registered on one license.
