Fingering arpeggios (this time for real)
on: May 03, 2006, 02:51:15 PM
A few weeks ago, I came up with some arpeggio fingerings which I thought were pretty smart. See:
https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,17299.msg185985.html#msg185985
After experimenting with them, it turns out they were in fact no good. So I went back to the drawing board and did my research.
I now use a fingering which follows the standard 'Czech school' (for want of a better term) and which, I imagine, is similar to most classical books. The reason I'm posting is that I found them hard to learn until I understood the logic behind them (which wasn't explained in the book).
All details are in the attached PDF. I hope others might find them useful. And please disregard my previous posting (linked to above).
If anyone finds flaw in my logic, or suggest a better alternative, I'm all ears. Meanwhile, these have now become a firm part of my practice routine.
Best,
Goose
