Chopin Ballade 1
on: May 04, 2006, 09:19:38 AM
I think this is where this should go anyway...

Anyway.. just have a few questions;

Firstly.. what kind of speed to people take the first section at (i.e. Moderato).. i think i may be going a little slow.

Secondly.. what speed do people take the 'piu mosso' section linking the first and second main sections... is crotchet= 144 too slow?

Lastly... for the second main section where it says "Meno mosso"... does that mean in relation to the "piu mosso" section or in relation to the original starting tempo

thanks

3)i dont know,but i play like 54 or 56 (2 beats per bar)

It is inteded to be slow coz you are still preparing the scene for the upcoming action. Just try to make the music into one line and don't divide it and don't go too fast.

Yes. It should be the same tempo as the first main theme

Whenever you see a "meno mosso" it means less motion (slower) than you were playing right before.

play it however you feel it. its a beautiful theme, you can go as slow as you want, save the action for later heh heh
