Hal Leonard/Schirmer

if any of you buy music from them, have you noticed the quality of the music (the sheet music) is very poor?  I think schirmer used to use blocks (like guttenberg's printing press) but they stopped after Hal Leonard bought them over or something.  Ugh curse you hal leonard!  Anyway, which publishing companies do you guys prefer, (if any?)

I like Peters, Henle Musik Verlag, Wiener Urtext and Universal, because I find them very clear (as opposed to Schirmer for example).

IMHO, best editions of some composers:

Bach -- Neue Bach Ausgabe, Breitkopf und Hartel
Handel - Henle
Scarlatti, D. - Schirmer (Kirkpatrick)
Haydn - Vienna Urtext (Landon)
Mozart - Presser (Nathan Broder), and Henle
Beethoven - Henle
Schubert - Henle
Schumann - Henle
Chopin - Paderewski, and Vienna Urtext.
Liszt - Editio Musica Budapest
Bartok - Boosey & Hawkes
Rachmaninov - Boosey & Hawkes
Debussy - doesn't really matter, although some newer editions by Alfred and Peters are good
Ravel - Alfred (Bricard)
