I can't wait to hear this myself.. his second concerto is probably my single favorite piece of music right now.

More people should listen to liebermann.  I post this thread about him and get 2 responses.  Pretty sad.  Some poeple just see the name and dont take the chance of listening to him.  Im trying to get to a performance of his 3rd concerto in NY or ohio.  And whats with Jeffrey Biegel playing it?  I wish it was Hough.  I also wish Hough would record Liebermann's Rhapsody on a theme of paganini.  Forgive my ramblings....

i would LOVE to see this piece recorded by hough. ive actually never heard of it, but i can imagine it being similar to lutoslawski's 2 piano paganini piece. are there any recordings of it out there? also, i totally agree with you that people should listen to liebermann. he wrote a great set of piano pieces called gargoyles (for those of you who dont know) that is one of my favorite modern sets. it was actually performed at my school not too long ago. i do enjoy hough's rec of it though.

Liebermann is my favorite modern composer!!  I would love to hear this concerto as well.  It will probably take a while to be released on cd.  :-(  I also saw on his website the new work for 2 pianos 8 hands - Daydream and a Nightmare, or something like that.  Sounds interesting.
I have recorded his newest piano duo in the Audition Room.  It is "Three Lullabies, Op. 76" for two pianos.  2nd movement is my favorite, although I also love the first.  The 3rd is very "puzzling."

Here's the links if anyone wants to listen:

My friend plays this and won many thousands of dollars with it.

he is a great composer from what I have heard, though that isn't much.
