andre rieu is.... (swoons talking) he is a violinist/conductor of his symphony/choir/master musician/romantic/ and good looking he is.  but, alas, he is going thin haired.  but, it doesn't seem to affect his virility on (or probably off) the stage.  the only problem i have with him is his choice of sopranos sometimes.  i wish he had more variety.  they think they're 'all that.'  they're not terrible or anything - and he often lets many levels of musicianship play with his concerts (for instance he allowed a 10 year old violinist on - and he was just out to help him learn about playing on stage and showing off his capabilities).  he's all about music and not competition.  and, he specializes in strauss waltzes among other music.  the women all wear these gorgeous dresses and the guys look like models for 'david's bridal' or something - in their black suits.  how can one not like andre rieu's concerts.  *hits desk again.

people in the audience usually get up and waltz around.  this is illuminating as to his success - i think - because people physically move to the music.  it makes them sway their heads back and forth if they don't dance.  and, for people you'd think wouldn't be 'musical,' he gets them to cry when he plays their favorite song - with lots of sugar.

yes.  i start thinking  hubby, barry douglas, thalbergmad, andre rieu.  it's all too confusing.  life is actually harder for women than you think.  people think we're so capable of controlling our feelings.  truth be told, if i was in a room with andre rieu there would be trouble.  i'd be asking him if i could have one of those dresses.  then, i'd ask if i could dance with him (just once) - and then turn and ask my husbands permission (out of prudence sake) - then i'd send thalbergmad the picture to make him jealous.
