Sales gimmick.

I didn't read all of it, but it looks like one of those programs that teaches more of a jazz/pop style.  They teach how to voice a few chords and then a few pieces that use those chords -- lead sheet style.  The learner is playing music that sounds decent right away.   Not that they understand it all.  I bought one of those things once to see what it was.  Not necessarily bad, but there are no shortcuts.

AMAZING!!!  Some guy with NO formal training can give a 100% guarantee that AFTER ONE NIGHT you will be able to play better than 99% of pianists in the world!!!  Who wouldn't want that kind of guarantee?

I'm going to go vomit...  because I just WASTED like $90,000 on my education so far! ::)

Off the subjcet, but...

Back in the 80's my piano teacher, Jack W., was the epitome of the classically trained pianist. Sadly he has passed away, so I can't provide a cite.

Anyway, I seem to recall Jack mentioning a (revolutionary?) keyboard that greatly simplified piano-playing. He tried describing it to me verbally, but I didn't get it. He was very much in favor of this keyboard, which surprised me, seeing how he was such a purist in every other way.

This is the guy who introduced me to Mozart, so I will revere him all the days of my life.

Guys this is a parody of an advertisement. It's just a joke that satirises all the sensationalist advertising that goes on on the internet and TV. And I have to admit it's very well done. But it's not even spam or a sales gimmick just a complete joke.

Why doesn't one of us with the disposable income buy this thing and actually see if it is real or a parody? I would, but I doubt they'd let me buy it with 78p 8)

In fact, if you can spare 10 minutes a day, you will be playing up to 20x better than you are right now.
So, if i can spare 11 minutes a day, i'll be able to play 22x better! Even 120x better with just an hour a day!

What the FUUUUUUUNNNK!?¿?¿?¿?¿? :o

Quote
Now when I sit down at a piano (even if it's in a room full of strangers), not only am I not nervous or scared about how I will play ...I know that people are going to be absolutely blown away.

And I personally would not trade that feeling for anything in the world, can you blame me?

What's even MORE mind-blowing is that I've played while 10 year piano students are watching. and they simply can not understand how I can make up instant masterpieces on the spot.  They are totally bewildered at my unique style and how I can pick out any tune within a matter of minutes.

And you know why?  Because they've wasted THOUSANDS of dollars and all they can do is simply read some mediocre sheet music.

I don't blame them for being mad.  They have every right to be.

Because unfortunately piano lessons are not only unfulfilling; they don't yield good results!

Plain and simple, the average "Piano Lessons" are almost always WRONG.

Um.. I cant even think up a word suitable to describe my disgust. This guy needs to be shot. Well, I have a huge audition in 2 hours so I am going to go practise.. the normal way. Ahem.

i hate those mile long sales letters! they're the equivalent of an internet infomercial. no matter what they are selling, i get the feeling that it's a rip off.

and even if all the hype is true, i don't really want to be taught by a "gutless wonder" (his words!)

anyhow, keep us informed if you decide to part with your "26 cents a day for the next year"  :P

well...you hands are not fysically developed, and needs years to be trained ( specially you little finger, and the weak finger) you speed on the piano developes ofer years ( and not over night) same with jumping abilities, endurance, sight reading, full understanding of scales, etc. this is something that doesent come over night. And that is just the technical part. what about controlling fear of audience and the art of performance. do you actually think this developes over night? it takes years of performance practice. what about putting you sole and feelings in to the music. That something you dont learn over night. Many people never learn that, and plays feelingsless. I can continue writing about this forever, but it is not worth it, because evryone knows that it is all just nonsense anyway.
