Did anyone watch the finals of this great competition last weekend?

No unfortunately I was busy. Was it good? Im considering taking this competition in the next few years??!

Yeah it was fantastic. Romain Descharmes from Paris came first (playing Ravels concerto in the final). It was high quality entertainment. Of the other finalists, two played brahms d minor, two beethovens Emperor and one played tchaikovsky b-flat minor.

who were the judges?  just curious if barry douglas was one of them.  he's been promoting classical music in ireland.  how long has this international competition been around?
