Rule two may be ambigious as I pointed out before. Rule number one surely isn't.
I break rules in my compositions all the time. Best, John
Show me one. I doubt you have the ingenuity to "Break rules" that Xenakis, Boulez, Ferneyhough, Stockhausen, Crumb, Penderecki and Nancarrow haven't. I doubt you have the ingenuity of John Thompson.Go on; show me.
great harmonies. unusual middle section. kind of seemed a blend of two styles for a minute - but that's ok. you're a good improviser and composer.
Actually, I compose from the heart. I studied theory and harmony but I think that's best left in the classroom. Music is subjective anyway (in the ears of the beholder).Since you requested it, here’s a piano solo from one of my CD’s. Oops, now I broke rule #1. But I do think this piece would be considered uncommon, or at least unknown. “The Girl from Nowhere”https://www.artistcollaboration.com/~johnny-boy/Girl%20From%20Nowhere.mp3Hope some of you enjoy this piece.Best, John
I do like Penderecki - Seven Gates of Jerusalem, though.
