DVD to WMV or AVI

Hi all,
I am wondering if there any free-ware or share-ware that would allow me to rip DVD to a WMV or avi format file....thanks, any info appreciated

Auto Gordon Knot
is such a program. It's freeware and rips a DVD to a DivX or XviD avi format. It's easy to use but the thing is if you want to rip copyprotected DVD's you have to decrypt the DVD first but this you can do with
DVD Decrypter
, another freeware program.

This sounds a little like stealing to me. I guess this comes from the ethics of the new World.

If you take someone else's DVD and rip it on to your computer it is. If you just like having all your movies on your computer, it's no different than using an mp3 player.
