This is a good topic IMO

Which Beethoven sonata was a favorite among 19th century virtuosos? (1800 to 1899)

Where are you getting these from? Are they pure conjecture?

Anyway. I know Alkan was a fan of Sonata #31 (op 110). I think he played it in one or more of his Petits Concerts as an old fart. Alkan also stunned Vincent D'Indy's when he played the 3rd movement for him alone.

I dont think so

I love how people post for the sake of posting, and without qualification to their opinions.

I don't know that we can assume that any of these sonatas are favorites of the said pianists, but I will confirm that Liszt played the Hammerklavier, and superbly at that - he was the first to "solve the enigma."
