Andante Spianato good for competition?
on: June 05, 2006, 08:40:27 PM
Do you think Chopin's Andante Spianato in G (w/o polonaise) is challenging enough technically/interpretively for a  high school competition?  I am asking just about the AS because the Grande Polonaise Brillante is too long for the competition I plan to enter in.

Thanks.

It is very one sided both in melody and bass so i would not choose it to impress if thats what your after.

I think it's a beautiful piece and though it's not that impressive to watch to; it's really a pleasure for the ear, if played right.

Andante Sp... is a great piece, but why not chose one of the nocturnes that also has a stormy middle section?
