talc tolchin videos - worth watching?
on: June 13, 2006, 02:05:48 PM
I just noticed the local library has a complete set of Talc Tolchin instructional videos.

Anybody tried these?  Any reviews?

Greetings.

This maybe just a personal preferance, but I will watch something (educational such as music, art, piano, etc) even if others claim it as bad. It is important to explore yourself and expatiate your knowledge, despite the criticism of others.

Good point.  Me too, though I may not make it through the whole video.

My apologies for posting in the wrong forum.  I didn't look closely enough at where I was, I meant to put this in Students.

My uneducated thought on the value a piano video is that you get to see somebody else play.  In my practice room I can see only my own fingers.  Maybe there is a less awkward way to play some things.  As such, a video that has plenty of playing would be more useful than one discussing theory, provided the camera work is adequate.
