Beard or no beard?
on: June 13, 2006, 03:37:48 PM
Question for the womens of the forum. do you prefer a man hairy or clean shaved? obviously blokes are going to vote, so please post your opinion also. another side question: if you like shaven men, where else do you like them to shave?  ;D

lmao, i guess it counts.

but basically things like goatees or those traditional long thin moustaches etc. or the hitler moustache lmao, that just looked plain ridiculous, though highly symbolic.

Genearlly no beard... though once in a while it depends on the person.  I really like the look of mild stubble, though I have sensitive skin and stubble can often be too rough.

I quite like a bit of stubble. Not too much, though. A full beard is definitely a no-no. It adds about a decade onto a person's age.

the mountain man look is out.  i think it sort of depends on the man as to how much he should shave.  i mean - u don't want to be ashamed of a hairy chest, but i feel blessed because my husband's chest hair is soft.  i really like it.  once he apologized because he didn't have as hairy of chest as he thought i liked or something - and, i told him quite the opposite.  suppose that it really depends on how much body hair a person likes.  if a woman likes a bear rug -  maybe put conditioner on it to soften it?  just an idea.

gruffalo - do what looks the best on u.  if u like minimal facial hair - be proud of it.  if u don't like goatees and prefer clean shaven - i don't think u'll find many women who complain about that!  some of those aftershave lotions are quite nice, too, and sort of soften the skin.  u know, like the commercial where the guy is getting petted a lot and he says - 'i think i'll shave my head.'

why did u change the large X  to many small xxxxx's?  i was going to ask what the large X meant, but then i changed my mind.  just incase it wouldn't be appropriate.  thal, it would be hard to mess u up.  i liked what u had in the last pic, if that's what u meant.  anyways, i'm not supposed to be looking at the pics anyways.  curiousity, i guess, of what people look like.  mental martin is really mental isn't he.  ur nice to put up with him.  hope that he doesn't cook.

I've enjoyed both states at different times of my life. I had a very large beard in my twenties. I shaved it off at around thirty but kept the handlebar moustache. The thickness and colour of whiskers are quite unpredictable and so growing them is always interesting the first time. I am not a particularly hairy individual so the strange mahogany colour (I was blond), thickness and rapidity of growth of my beard baffled me. My father could not grow a beard and neither can my son, so it must just be my genes.

Obviously I am supposed to be "getting" this ... and I at least know that you are refering to something I didn't... but I don't get it.  Not that I want an explanation.

But, because of these two posts together... yeah... skin around my mouth.

yea, this is not really for my image, i am just intrigued to know. i dont grow much facial hair anyway, well not enough for a beard or moustache. that would take years. i decided not to shave until my exams are finished and that started a few weeks ago. i dunno, i never cut my hair or shave during exam time. i end up looking like a hobo after.

Beards make people look thuggish (at least in my opinion)

I'm currently bearding myself.  It'll bed shaved off before summer though.  I'm growing it mostly out of boredom.

I do plan on getting a decent sized beard when I'm old.  It'd be frickin' awesome to look like Brahms. :D

Can I reply to this question (I'm not a woman)?
But I hate all types of facial hair - moustache, whiskers, beard and especially long hair.
