Scarlatti K.119- a little help with a run
on: June 15, 2006, 01:05:18 AM
Hello,

I'm practicing this cool piece right now.  One part that gives me a little trouble is the downward run marked "veloce" in bar 34.  Without even looking at it too long, my teacher said I could do right hand for the first 6 notes, then do left hand from the d to the a, then back to right hand for three notes, then left hand again from the d to the a, and so on.

I've practiced this run a lot with that fingering and hand-crossing, but I can't make it half as fast as some of the recordings I've heard.  Is there a better way of doing this run?  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks a lot,

Joe

If it was up to me i would play the whole run with my right hand, and just the last note, the trill with the E, with my left. So much easier then doing the hand crossing thing.
