ovens
on: June 17, 2006, 12:13:10 AM
i baked some brownies tonight and against my better judgement put the pototoes (cooking potatoes at the same time) on the top rack and the brownies in the middle. then, i pull it out to look and there's a hump in the middle of the brownies. obviously the heat was not equalized or something in the middle - whereas whn u cook pototoes there - no one notices if they are cooked a little more on one side or the other.
is this a flaw with my oven - or is it common to have better heat equalization on the top rack?

strange! i took the potatoes out and switched places with racks (putting the brownies on the top rack). the hump went down after a few minutes.
