score request -- Liszt
on: June 17, 2006, 10:48:00 PM
The Cortot editions of the chopin etudes have been posted a few times here.  Does anybody have the Cortot Liszt transcendental etudes?  And does anybody know if he made working editions of the liszt concerti?

never knew Cortot had editions of Liszt's etudes.  Personally I've always wanted to see Liszt's editions of the Beethoven Sonatas.

Yes, I have seen the Cortot Liszt etudes before, but stupidly didn't buy them.  I have also seen the LIszt Beethoven sonatas, and although it has some interesting historical value (it was groundbreaking in its strict adherence to the text), you won't really find Liszt's interpretative ideas in it, like in a Schnabel edition.  His goal was different.

If this is found please PM me about it.  I am working on one.

I havent gotten round to translating his notes on Mazeppa yet so I'll have to get back to you :P

most of the notes to be honest are just comparisons between the Etude en 12 exercises, the Grandes Etudes and the Transcendentals anyway. But there are some useful exercises. Hopefully scanner will be done soon and you can see for yourself

Someone wants to translate the Dante Sonata notes or does someone know if there's an English edition of it available in a store?

Does anybody have these?  I would like to see them very much, especially La campanella.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but does someone have the Cortot edition of the Liszt Sonata?
