Need help with some hand crossing technique
on: June 25, 2006, 07:30:49 PM
I'm trying to figure out exactly how to play the part of this that's boxed in with a pencil (See attachment). I know that the hands should cross, but I'm not sure exactly how to sustain the F with the right hand and cross with the left hand without the right hand getting in the way. I've tried a few different ways, and they all feel slightly awkward. What is the best way to play this, technically? Help is appreciated!

Play the F with your RH with the third finger on the very bottom of the key. This way you leave space for your LH to crossover without intervention from the RH. Also don't forget to play the LH on the topmost of the keys!!

Tell me if it works..

That did help some! Thanks  :)  I think what it really needs now, though, is just a little practice...  Also, does anybody know who has the best recording of this piece? I have a recording, but I'm not sure if it's the best.
