Why, you mean old thing! Why not a romantic ménage à trois in Kabul? I'd have thought that something as major as 2,000 posts would merit at least such a prize...

I think that this post above is my favourite, actually. If I win the prize for having selected it, do I get to choose my companions for the Afghan trip? (and are the airline tickets one-way or only half-way?)...

Anyway - congratulations on knocking up your second thousand! Keep 'em coming!

Best,

Alistair

well, asking paris if she had a beard wasn't exactly the thing to do if u wanted to marry her.  in fact, after that, she stopped posting.  where did she go anyway.  what have u done thalbergmad?  ur pushing away the ones that u love.

(believe me, i understand.  half the things i said to my piano teacher, i'd take back in a minute.  they were said under duress).

ps exactly where is clacton.  is it near a railroad?  if there is one thing i hate, it is listening to trains go by.  but, alas, for u - i would do it.  only for an afternoon.  (we could leave and go to alistair's premier and miss the train).

Speaking of such things, what ever happend to Bouter Boogie?  Wasn't she on the love list before paris?

Thal, about the posts - some of the ones in the pictures thread are quite hilarious and scary at the same time.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Clacton - if it has any virtues at all (which is open to serious doubt) - is at least within raining distance of central London and yes, there is what Brits quaintly call a railway there, where one can I believe, get trains direct into central London.

Since you are so kindly suggesting attending Jonathan Powell's concert, I can assure you that your time in Clacton will be mercifully short, since the performance takes place at 7.30 on a Saturday evening, so you won't have to spend much time in Clacton at all before you catch a slow, unpunctual train away from the place.

Clacton is in Essex, which is full of Essix boys an' gels (send Thal a PM and he'll explain this to you if necessary).

7:30 on a saturday evening.  u know, i think i'm beginning to like this.  arrive in london.  go to clacton.  take the train back to london with thal.  wait a minute!  thal doesn't live in clacton.  maybe he'll meet me in clacton.  unless i meet an essex boy.  is this a good thing?  can u tell essex boys from the girls?  well, i'm married anyway - as i said on antoher thread - but i am very adventurous - and wouldn't rule out just getting on a plane and scaring my family.  i'll tell them that i'll come back when the dishes are done and the floor is mopped (that'll take them all day).  guess i'll have to leave a longer list.
