Beethoven- (from what I can see, he explores a wider range of emotions (I do like Mozart, by the way).
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

A world, in short, totally unlike our own.

There is no such thing as who's the best. Both are immortal giants in classical music. Everyone has his own style. You can't say Mozart is better or vice versa coz just both has contributed so so much to music.

I can't get enough of Mozart's beautiful melodies and his wonderful conversations between instruments or the piano concertos.

And I can't get enough too of Beethoven's revolutionary style, his dramatic climaxes, his immortal symphonies.

So, I can't say who's better for me !!

that's a good reply.  mozart didn't get to live out a normal adult life.  he died young.  i forget how old beethoven was - but at least he lived another 20 years, i think.  this doesn't equal the playing field.  and, in terms of judging by their music - they were both geniuses from the start and so to compare genius with genius is fairly impossible for the average person.

perhaps of more interest to me - is how environment seems to not hinder some genius.  for instance, beethoven didn't seem to have any advantages in his youth.  and, actually both of them began to work very hard under very bad situations at times.  what causes this tremendous quest for musical knowledge and quick understanding of it.  it's like they spoke the language as soon as they heard it.

They're both immortal, so why select one above the other?

Are you and Ihatepop in competition to see who can start the most inane threads and polls in the shortest space of time? I think you might have pipped him with these ones...

You're stupid and rude, brewtality, but aptly named.

But if you think you're just too good, too smart, or too suave for such discussions, why don't you seek your intellectual level. Go watch Cartoon Channel.

no, he's just sick of seeing threads that ask dumb questions. however the kid is apparently only 15, thus needs to learn that ranking composers is dumb, and this is a good way to do so.

True, but Wolfie tried it on with the future queen of France. It's a tough one...
