is there a way to convert itunes formats to mp3?

itunes is retarded, and has whatever it's own little format, mpeg4 or whatever. but is there a way i can convert the files to mp3 without having to reburn half my music using a different program?

You right click on the 'song' (or if you are using one of those ridiculous mac mice, ctrl+click) and then say "convert selection to mp3"

Man, forget the war in Iraq, let's start a thread on which is the better operating system Mac or PC. I could really get upset in that thread.


I use a program called Musicmatch Jukebox to convert all my cd's and then I tell  I-tune where to find them. 

it's a great little software that cost under 40$US and you can download it off the net.

Hahaha Tash, yes, I also almost bust a valve trying to figure that one out. It took me forever, and I wanted to kick myself when I saw how simple it was. : ;D

yeah i've got musicmatch, used to use that til i got an ipod. thus i will be sticking to itunes so long as nobody steals my ipod! but musicmatch was good, i use it when i'm not fussed with ipod blah

Yes but Tash, use Musicmatch first so you have your songs in MP3 format.
All the songs are on your computer, then you just tell I tune to pick up your songs from that directory.
