itunes is retarded, and has whatever it's own little format, mpeg4 or whatever. but is there a way i can convert the files to mp3 without having to reburn half my music using a different program?

This site should explain your options.

Of course the best solution is not to buy into Mac's propaganda and don't use Itunes. :)

You right click on the 'song' (or if you are using one of those ridiculous mac mice, ctrl+click) and then say "convert selection to mp3"

Man, forget the war in Iraq, let's start a thread on which is the better operating system Mac or PC. I could really get upset in that thread.

I use a program called Musicmatch Jukebox to convert all my cd's and then I tell  I-tune where to find them.

it's a great little software that cost under 40$US and you can download it off the net.

Hahaha Tash, yes, I also almost bust a valve trying to figure that one out. It took me forever, and I wanted to kick myself when I saw how simple it was. : ;D

Yes but Tash, use Musicmatch first so you have your songs in MP3 format.
All the songs are on your computer, then you just tell I tune to pick up your songs from that directory.
