Schumann's Presto (Supplement to Op. 22)
on: July 06, 2006, 07:00:53 PM
Way back when, I found an amazing recording of this piece freely available; naturally, I didn't save it nor do I remember where it was. It's the "other," much longer finale to Schumann's Op. 22 sonata in Gm.

I am NOT asking for anyone to post anything illegally as was wrongfully assumed from an earlier thread, but if anyone happens to have an Amazon link I can't find or otherwise refer me to a recording I could purchase, that'd be quite helpful.

Can't seem to dig anything up atm...

Horowitz plays it on the great pianists label - not sure if you can still find it though. (maybe the original recording is available)
Never look at the trombones. You'll only encourage them.

Does anyone have any idea why this ending (Presto passionato) was discarded in favor of the Rondo:Presto?  Thanks.

Clara thought it was too hard.  and that's a serious answer!
