Qualifications
on: July 07, 2006, 02:23:58 AM

Just wondering, are any specific qualifications required to teach the material from the various exam boards privately?

I wasnt sure, but I thought I remember an old guitar guy I knew taking some RCM exams so that he could teach the syllabus?

Not that Im teaching anyone... other than myself! But just a thought for the future.

Cheers,

SJ

None whatsoever.  :D

And if you don´t want to put your name upfront to register the student for the exam (usually the teacher does it, and gets the results, which s/he then passes on to the student) there is the option of the student (if s/he is over 18) or the parents (ifs/he is under 18) doing the registration.

Best wishes,
Bernhard.

Splendid.

Now all I have to do is learn to play and Im made!  ;D

Actually though, Im a long time guitarist, so its highly likely that I'll be giving axe lessons before I venture into piano territory. Food for thought though.

Cheers Bernhard,

SJ

Nah. Your students need to learn to play, not you! ;) ;D
