I don't know for sure, having never played it myself, but I hear that it is much less difficult than it sounds.  I once saw a guy perform it, looked like lots of patterns and stuff that would lie easily under the hand.  Also a lot of repetition, which makes for faster learning and memorization.  Overall, I would think you could get a lot of bang for your buck with this piece.

funny that, i was playing it for the fun of it yesterday! though learnt it properly like 2 years ago. i wouldn't say it's terribly difficult, but depends on your level.it's good fun though, the one thing that killed me were the descending passage just before it goes into the andantino espressivo, but i probably just didn't practice them enough.

yeah it's easy to memorise, and once you get the chords and stuff under way it's all good. so if you have any q's you're welcome to ask me. have fun with it!

I've never studies this piece, but I can say that I can sight read nearly all of it...  I'm about DipABRSM-LRSM level, and other than the middle section, it's very repetitive, although maybe a bit confusing for the right hand at some spots.  It's a bit jumpy at some spots too.  What are some pieces you've played recently?
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

This year I played:

Bach 3 part inventions 2 & 12
Beethoven sonata Op. 10 No 1
Chopin Polonaise Op. 26 No 1

And for the next year I'm gonna play (besides that one):

Bach WTC Prelude and Fuge 2 (book 1)
Mozart Sonara K332
Schubert Impromptu Op. 90 No. 2

I guess it depends on my level ???

I'd say go for it  :)

I'll eventually learn it, but I've got too much on my plate as it is...

It's really a lot of fun to hear, even if it's played often.
