Recital Song
on: July 27, 2006, 06:49:58 AM
Can anybody recommend a recital song for me?  I would like it to sound impressive, and also have it be fun to play.  My teacher has recommended songs such as Waltz Op.18 in E-flat Major, Waltz Op.64 No.1 in D-flat Major, and Etude Op.10 No.3 in E Major, to give you a rough idea of my level.

Chopin 10/3 is actually very HARD.

I would recommend Chopin E minor Posth Waltz. It has one of those sure-to-make-'em-clap endings.

10/3 is considerably harder than the other two pieces that you mentioned. Out of these three I recommend the E-flat major waltz. The Minute Waltz is too short, and the Etude just seems out of place, but if you could play that, then by all means play it for your recital.

Please, they are not songs. Pieces!

Good luck on your recital by the way.  :)

Thank you for you help!  I'll be sure to call them "pieces."  Haha.

I was just listening to the Chopin waltzes. Op. 42 number 5 in A flat is a fantastic one. Maybe that'll give you one more choices to choose!
