Bernhards 5,000th
on: July 28, 2006, 10:04:56 PM
WOW, it is nearly time to celebrate.

5,000 posts of anti hanonism.

But what do we know about Bernhard. Who is he and where is he?

Who was his teacher?

Who are his pupils?

Today i hear he has a waterfall in his back garden, but that is all i know.

Well done Bernhard. Pianostreets would be a poorer place without you.

Then it would be most fitting to celebrate it here. :D

For the record, this is my 5000th post.  8)

(Thanks, Thal :))

Best wishes to all,
Bernhard.

But what do we know about Bernhard. Who is he and where is he?

I believe I may be a lost member of the Dutch Royal family (same surname). I hope they figure this out and bequeath me a couple of castles before Prometheus does away with them. At the moment I am in Brazil (where the nuts come from).

Who was his teacher?

I had several teachers, five being the most important and influential. They could all trace their piano ancestry to Christian Gottlob Neefe. There were all fervent Hanonists (serious!). Not only you had to do Hanon, as you had to do Hanon with coins on the back of your hands. Eventually you progressed to do Hanon with water fillied glasses on the backs of your hands. No wonder the piano was always moulded. ::)

Who are his pupils?

A bunch of ungrateful bastards. I could not believe when Brendel, Godowsky and Richter claimed never to have had a teacher! >:(

Actually it is in the front garden. 8)

Thank you, the feeling is mutual. :D

Best wishes,

I may not always agree with you on such topics as Bach and Politics, but as a whole your posting on this forum benefits it greatly.

Congrats, sir.  :D

in actuality, bernhard probably has about three times that amount because one of his posts are equal to 3.  bernhard is jealous of brendel, godowsky, and richter because they claimed they had no teacher?  that means that bernhard has been claiming this hanonite as a teacher.  which means...which means that he considers the hanonite worthy of the title 'teacher.'  although definately unknighted and never called to the kingom.

now, about this waterfall in the front yard.  is it a wall-like waterfall, or a fountain with a statue of scarlatti in the middle, or is it a simple bird bath that occasionally drips water over the edge?  i've been thinking about a water feature, too.  the best i've gotten is my son squirting a solution through the hose to clean the outside panels.  in pa it rains so much that they build wooden houses and then cover them with this waterproof siding.

ps  i think bernhard should be tested for high levels of testosterone.

Yes, thank you Bernhard for sharing all your wisdom and knowlege.  And thanks for spending time on the forum.  I can't imagine how long it takes you to respond to all our questions, but it must be very time consuming.

I had relatives in Brazil.  I bet it is hot and muggy there.  I live in a desert, it is hot, but not so muggy.  All I have in my backyard is a hole with rocks around it.  Someday it will grow into a beautiful waterfall, just don't know when.  It's been like this for three years!

Thanks again Bernhard, and keep it up. Soon, we'll celebrate your 10,000th!

So much for Christian way of life :D .

who says I am doing anything anti-Christian? I am not thinking dirty, fornicating or having pre-marital sex with these women. Bernhard says that that picture is what he likes to look at at the beach, hence I made the joke of traveling with the brazilianbooty airline services.

How is that anti-Christian?
