Why? Did she fire you, Barnowl?
Missing a whole day of practice before the lesson day does not sound like a reasonable excuse to quit lessons with the teacher you like. You have 6 other days to work on your pieces, including Friday ( I'm sure your lesson is not at 9 in the morning ). What is the deal about continuity?
How does someone find a piano teacher in his locale?Other than using the phone book.
What area are you looking in?Best,ML
Barnowl,Go to the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) website at: https://mtna.org/home.htmOn the right hand side, you'll find a link that says "Find a Music Teacher".From there, you can search by State, Instrument, and Zip Code. All the teachers that come up through the search are MTNA Nationally Certified Teachers of Music (NCTM).
I do not think teacher's location matter all that much in this case. Barnowl is looking for a teacher who will practice for him too. Some students just like to pick pieces .
Right. We all have/had our share of those students. I think I can smell those now by the way they sweat. They sweat... umm... different.
They sweat by other people's pores maybe
Go to local music stores. They usually have a public bulletin board providing free advertisements for any local music teachers, technicians, and private secondhand instrumental trade/sells. I've tried the phone book before... that might, or might not work.
Keep your eyes and ears open. I found my current teacher, a quite wonderful teacher, right here, from another member's posting.
