Ullen's Ligeti recording
on: July 30, 2006, 03:18:25 AM
Am I just crazy, or is there a cymbal of some sort played in the background of the Capriccio 2 piece a few seconds before the end? It's barely audible.

ryguillian, since you are the admin of the sorabji forum, I assume you are being sarcastic....

If not though, Fredrik Ullen is a pianist who has recorded Ligeti etudes and also he is recording the complete transcendental etudes of sorabji.  He sure loves those difficult etudes!

You are a useless poster.

Is that comment in reference only to my posts in this particular thread, or a global comment on my posts in general? (If it applies to the later, we might be in for some examples!!!)

Best always your mechanical friend from North Armorica,

Ryan

No, not yet, but we can confirm that volume II was recorded last week and more of the studies are being recorded this week.

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive. But according to recent research, a robotic exoskeleton hand could help pianists improve their speed of performing difficult pianistic patterns, by overcoming the well-known “ceiling effect”.
