Hi everyone  ;D

My piano teacher let me borrow a dvd that included the appasionata by beethoven (3rd movement only), but as soon as i heard the song, i noticed that the pianist played an alternate beginning, and it was not from the second movement either. (maybe he was improvising?). anyway, i searched the song up on this site for the sheet, only to find that the beginning was the same as the one i printed out from www.sheetmusicarchives.com.

so anyway, i wanted to know if there really is an alternate beginning for the appasionata by beethoven.

thanks ;)

I'd be curious who the pianist was.  I've never heard of an alternate beginning.  Nor have I heard of a pianist crass enough to change something like that.
It's truly one of the most jilting, stunning, and dramatic moments in the literature.

And btw, it's spelled Appassionata.
