Can anyone help? Playing by ear
on: August 14, 2006, 07:24:55 AM
Hey, I need help from anyone who has knowledge of playing by ear, and/or has perfect pitch. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. I have to play a piano accomp. for a singer, glory of love by Bette Midler from the movie beaches. Its in E major (I'm pretty sure it is) here is the video of the piano part I have to play:
and here is what I figured out (done this over the weekend)

I have a feeling there are some wrong chords in there and some chords left out, there are some things I just couldnt hear what the pianist was doing. I havnt got the end, the ending sounds really hard lol. It doesnt help I suck at playing by ear

I think you're right on, as it sounded very good.
No one will notice if you don't have it 100% like the original, as long as you've got certain piano parts, such as the run at the end of the verse, correct.
I think you have the chords correct from what I heard, so keep on what you're doing and it will sound great!
Cheers
