win a trip for two to paris
on: August 15, 2006, 06:32:19 PM
ok.  i was bored today so i bought that mag with eva mendez on the cover.  at the checkstand, the lady said 'wow, she looks like cindy crawford.  then the guy next to me suddenly pops up 'no, cindy has a mole on the opposite side of her face.'  hmm.  i think guys do more scrutiny of magazines than we think.

ok.  so i'm finally at the last page (after wafting through pages of very bad taste clothing).  the only thing that appeals to me in this mag is the trip for two to paris sponsored by kohl's.  here's the deal:  'tranformationnation.com'   you have to write an essay telling kohl's 'what has been the most important transformation in your life, and how has it impacted you?'  grand prize:  10,000. kohl's shopping spree, a trip for two to paris.

ten finalists will also receive:  a $1,000. kohl's makeover and a trip to la to attend a fashion event.

just in case anyone cares or wants to apply.  i mean this might even cheer up mayla.

I am sure your entry would win, if you could keep it to under 10,000 pages.

try it on google after exiting pf.  maybe it will work better there?

i hope i win thal.  my husband is going to paris in about two weeks.  i plan on taking my daughter so we can do some serious shopping in two months (if i win.  i hope you're right).  thanks for the encouragment.  this way, it'll sort of make my husband see the burn i get when he just goes off and leaves me.  business trips never seem to pay for spouses.  hmm.

what your husband should do is use his personal credit card and get reimbursed from his company. That way he can get flier miles and eventually get to take you somewhere.

yes. but at this point with credit card companies raising rates and all -it's a little risky.  i mean, i'd rather have him fly on company card right now.  seriously, if i won this - i would probably find a babysitter and go with him (bringing back something for my daughter).  the last time we were by ourselves - and not counting restaurants - hmmm.  usually our vacations are centered on family get togethers or funerals.  i want to go somewhere else like paris or las vegas.  we have this las vegas trip worked out right now - so we'll see!  but, we're bringing the kids.

yeah I know what you mean about family gatherings around funerals. I hear cruises are great ways of fixing that problem with kids. There are all sorts of activities geared directly towards kids. THe supervision is great and that allows the parents to go and do whatever they want.

Hey, pianistimistimistimo, I thought you were planning some kind of trip to UK? Has Paris now taken precedent? Does this mean that we will not see you at Jonathan Powell's 11/11 date in London? Does it also mean that you have finally decided that an intervening sojourn to Clacton-on-Sea (in the interests of bona fide research, naturally) has now been abandoned?

Best,

dear ahinton,

as with piano purchases, overseas trips are limited to free tickets at this point.  i added up the cost of single me going over and then decided that the family could travel sorta internationally without passports to las vegas.  so, everybody's happy.  our family is kinda messed up.  we don't have this glee for each other if someone is travelling alone.  everyone wants to get in the bus and starts crying if they feel they are going to be left by themselves.

believe me, if i had a free round trip ticket to england - i'd take it.  clacton by the sea sounds interesting.  and, the 11/11 concert.  good thing it isn't september 11th.  whew.  that's an appointment i've got to keep here.  3:15 - but i forgot to write what and who it is with.  perhaps a disjointed connection to the dentist.  maybe he wants to see how stressed i might get over having a dental apppointment on that date.

boliver, the cruise liner does sound appealing. t he thing is that the ymca swimming pool makes my youngest get sick.  i'd have  aterrible vacation if she was throwing up and pooping everywhere away from home.  the last two days here she drank too much pool water and was sticking close to the bathroom.  i told her 'you're not supposed to drink it.'

Business trip, you have not fallen for that old trick have you.

He is probably taking his 20 year secretary to take down his particulars.

you mean like cindy crawford?  boliver, eva mendez looks just like her.  she is also a new model. the older ones are becoming too raw, if you know what i mean.  i see a pic of mischa barton looking like she's holding up a wall - sort of a staggering out of the apartment look.

see no evil. hear no evil...that's my motto.  if my husband came home with lipstick around the neck or perfume that wafted off his clothes i'd worry.  unfortunately, or fortunately he's travelling with a young man.  possibly. they might actually meet for their business meeting on separate travel itineraries.  i've met the man in question and he is married, i believe.  no earrings in the ear or anything.  no painted fingernails.  of course, who knows what they do when they get over there.  but, my husband is not known for liking that sort of thing.

i'm sure if he accidentally got a las vegas show in pari - he would politely read his book.  and call me later and tell me about it.  he says nice things - like 'the women in paris aren't that pretty.'  of course, it consoles me - but i don't believe it.  also, he hated the traffic.  but, i'm sure there are many things to enjoy.  i don't speak much but 'avoir and moi' - do not know the french word for bathroom, which might be a problem.  i heard once that they switched to uni-sex bathrooms.  that really bothered me.  oh, well...i'll let my husband worry about that.

Its not lipstick around his neck you want to worry about.

Anyway, as he is travelling with another man who does not appear to be a "gaylord", sounds like you can sleep in peace.

I take it you will be having the boyfriend around in his absence.

no.  but a funny readers digest story had a woman quite embarrassed.  apparrently her husband was in the military and returned from duty when his little daughter or son ran up and said 'you'll be really happy.  mommy didn't sleep with anybody this time.'  (what the child failed to mention was that the father had admontioned the little kids in the family to not bug the mother so much by getting in her bed).

Contest are rigged.  For a lot less work and a bit more money, you might as well buy into the state lotto.

i had a friend whose son kept getting sick when swimming as the ymca. Apparently it was something about the cleaner or fragrance that they use there.
