A sincere apology to Pianistimo
on: August 19, 2006, 05:32:41 PM
In the Audition Room, Pianistimo listened to a piece composed by a PS member and one complaint she expressed was that it was too Beethoven-ish and should be set more solidly in the 21st Century.

I scoffed and told the kid"... screw the 21st Century..."

That was extremely poor of me.

Pianistimo knows much, much more about music than I do. In fact I know so little, I don't feel entitled to have a decent opinion on anything. But even if I knew as much or more than Piano Street's much loved Romantic, I should not have come on spitefully, and instead, should have disagreed respectfully.

So, I humbly apologize, Pianistimo. I hope you will forgive me.

Greetings.

Actually, you both have the right to say what you want, but ultimately it is the composers choice if he should listen to anyone's comments.

Barnowl, if you're not ana li... I think Da pianiztimo will forgive you.

Anyways, who are you guys talking about?

Some creep going by the name, Ana Lingus, seems to have posted in all the
Boards here. The posts were anal-oriented (as you could guess from his name)
and rotten.

I asked the mods to get rid of the posts and the guy.

It took them awhile but, apparently they did it. I've bopped around to a couple
of board and I don't see any of them  anymore.

I hope they have the ability to recognize the idiot's computer and refuse to let him back in.

How come I always miss these things? Everytime something happens on the forum that arises disgust and an outward impact on the forum members, I miss it. What is the matter?

I think that Pianistimo is really upset with you Barnowl. I think that you should post threads asking for her forgiveness in big bold letters with exclamation marks.

(I secretely want Barnowl to make fun of himself so that I finally could have a funny thread to read, since I missed the threads stated above by the Barnowl. I know that he won't find this message in my post because it is so well hidden.)

If I knew how, I would.  ;D ;D ;D

Whenever I try to use bigger type here, I get the words surrounded by 10point
parentheses.

Make these threads Barnowl. Make them.
And why did you report the person to the moderator? Isn't it allright to have some form of discussion outside the main frame?

(I know that Barnowl will fall for this one. He just has to make these threads that will make me laugh. Barnowl can't see this message either).

Ah the drama. I love this forum so much.

Would you post a personal apology (or for that matter, a question to Bernhard) on a bulletin board at your school or work?  :P

That's what email and PMs are for.

I considered that, tac-tics, but that would be the easy way. After all, I abused her in public, so I felt I must apologize in public. And in this Board that's more heavily populated than that other one.

Not to worry, pianistimo is quite a forgiving person.
You can say anything to him and he'd forgive you, because he is a nice guy.

Pianistimo is fat.
Bach - Partita No.2
Scriabin - Etude 8/12
Debussy - L'isle Joyeuse
Liszt - Un Sospiro

Goal:
Prokofiev - Toccata

Pianistimo is fat.

To the extent of my knowledge Pianistimo is a she. Perhaps the name should be "Pianistima", but that is not for us to decide. I am sure this was adressed somewhere else on the forum.

Fat? Or perhaps is it skinny? What proof do you have? Or what kind of spurious information is this?

Pianistimo is definitely a woman. Furthermore, she has a husband named Bob. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Bob posts here under a pseudonym like the rest of us.

Anyway, I think Pianistimo is sitting back and enjoying this thread, dying to chime in, but somehow maintaining miraculous restraint.

Or she's on holiday.

Or she's sick.

barn owl, i did let you suffer for two days needlessly? as i sneaked a peek friday night - only to read some really wierd stories that made me disappear for two days.  if it wasn't for you -i'd still be gone.  but, then again, maybe some of my posts have made women's issues too much information.  i apologize myself.

in any case, you were the LAST person that i was thinking about leaving over.  i just thought those wierd stories were too much and i didn't want to accidentally stumble over them again in the midst of reading things about music.

i have been laughing a little bit (as one would if they died and then heard what people said at their funeral).  i mean, from all i can tell some people think i'm a guy ? (wonders where they got that?) and that i'm fat.  well, i'm definately a woman and definately getting in better shape than at the beginning of summer (in which i was slightly fat - if you want to call it that).  in other cultures it's supposed to be good, right?  noone can accuse me of being too skinny anymore.  but, the thing is - i've been cycling and now i am much more in shape.  i'm too old for anyone here, anyway - and married on top of that - to john (not bob) who is a very special man.

i feel like a sort of anne landis or something because i cannot stay away from this forum and i like to discuss things on 'anything but piano' as well as music topics.  but, the thing is - that my posts will be reigned in.  i will never discuss brazilian waxes again.  and, forget i ever said anything about the pole.  it never happened.  it's just a fantasy of my husbands.  we talked about it and then decided it was too much work.  i might surprise him though - but i'm just not going to talk about it.

You have me laughing again.

Ignore my other post to you in the other thread, about my being the possible cause of your upset. You've answered it here, and I am not.

Damn right I'm attracted to Pianistimo! I like her very much. But I'm not out to jump her bones. I find her charming, and creative, and funny, and inquisitive, and on and on. I would be proud to be her friend.

Pianistimo is very special. Her husband should feel blessed.

forgive him for what?  i can't even think what would make me mad.  certainly everyone is entitled to their opinion and if someone has a different one - i don't think i should get mad.    in fact, i thought more about the composer and beethoven since it was brought up.  i think barnowl was probably right.  i mean, the 20 adn 21 st century hasn't really given us a lot of memorable repertoire as far as i'm concerned.  but, it does reflect the times in which we live.  unpredictable.  alarming.  sort of left-wingish.  i can't say it provokes peace in my heart.  perhaps i should have said - keep sounding like beethoven - because i love beethoven.

barber has done some unusual things with harmony and yet left basic classical forms intact.  i find his music pleasing when i'm in the mood for it.  but, when it gets down to just chilling out and really truly relaxing and just not concentrating so much - perhaps exactly what that composer wrote would be a refreshing change.  sometimes when new composers start out - they get into fixed ideas.  i was just trying to help him break some boundaries.  but, it wasn't a big issue to start.  i mean - i was just expressing a sort of 'first impression.'  sometimes they are different than lasting impressions - because someone has actually done something of a lasting quality.  we know classical music has lasted.

in terms of winning a composing competition - i think you have to do something unique and different.  but, he did not say he was entering a competition.  so that doesn't matter.

No. I ask the Mods to do it because we do this at another Board - and the Mods there comply. Here, I don't know. It might be understaffed, or maybe they just don't care. I ask, they ignore.

There's really a great way to do it - or so I thought: Make your post the last one in your thread, and in it, ask the Mods to kill it. Then click on  Report this thread. The message in your post would darn sure get to the Mods immediately, right?

Ah but instead, you get an error message to the effect...You're such a dummy! You can't report your own thread, you moron!!  ;D ;D ;D

So when you want to kill a thread, you'll have to get a gun and...  ::)
