credit union coop
on: August 20, 2006, 05:44:03 PM
if you have reader's digest - you've already read it.  but, for people who might be looking to get better rates without having an employer's credit union to join, there's www.creditunion.coop
(browse the links on the left)
at credit unions, which are nonprofit, earnings are returned to members in lower loan rates or services such as free checking.  youwon't save on 30 years mortgages -but they have higher interest rates for deposit accounts and lower rates on loans.  'recently, the average interest rate on a cu money market account was .75 of a point higher than the bank average; the typical cu credit-card interest rate was nearly 3 points lower than a bank issued card.'

Welcome back, i thought you had topped yourself.

Credit Unions are very popular in the north of England and even more so in Scotland.

They make a welcome alternative to Banks and are especially good for small loans.
They will help people that the Banks will not touch.

my.  all kinds of friends are coming out of the woodwork.  i will report this promptly to elsbeth.  that is one thing i never quite learned.  men seem to like women who avoid them like the plague.  i should have remembered from that old boyfriend i had to use ant spray on.  he wasnt' really a boyfriend - but he did learn to back up when i came around.
