which do you like best?
on: August 22, 2006, 01:24:56 AM
hard choice, on one hand, winter is a time of change and refreshment of nature, while desks come in handy to aviod clutter. Bernhard is the heart and sould of the forum, and without SPAM where would you get your daily protein in canned form? On the other hand the jemboy can't even speak fleunt english, but can speak some adaquet musical language.

Which choice will be your chosen path, only you can decide.

1) winter is also a time of ski accidents and inaugurations.

2) But desks can also contribute to and accomodate clutter.

3) I don't know what a "sould" is.

4) Without Spam, I'd eat powdered milk.  Or a can of worms.

5) Music is just as easily misinterpreted as English.  Think of the confusion that ensues when someone asked for a piece of toast in E-flat minor, but got a kipper in D major.  Therefore speaking fluent English is not necessarily important nor helpful.

3. well, you could use commen sense and finish the phrase as "heart and soul"

5. You seem like you are auguing with me. I never said fluent english was necessarily important. Unless it is a random point.

1. Summer has its down to, more robberies, car accidents increase, and bicycle, skateboard, and other accidents.

2. If used correctly, desks will be your new best friend

4. wise choice le_poete_mourant

wow, this thread is really random. btw, the jemboy isnt that great. great technique and all, but his interpretations arent that good, so he doesnt speak an "adequate" msuical language to me. and yes, i am jealous. btw, id pick winter. thats the best time of year.

Jemboy's interpretations of repertoire do not strike me that much as well, but I heard excerpts of his Impro recording, even though one can hear some influences, it's pretty good.

why is bernhard with winter, desks, spam, and jemboy?  i think bernhard is like springtime, an easy chair, port wine, and probably himself and some of his students improvising after a lesson.  he's the only teacher i see on here that gives lessons more than once a week.  i wouldn't call that sparse like winter.  i'd say he's got more youthful invigoration that many of the younger set.  and, he's got some brilliance to his thoughts.  you know.  creativity.  some teachers take a method book and follow it line by line.  i think many of the good teachers on this forum do NOT.  but, bernhard just comes to mind as a proper englishman without the decorum.  i don't think he expects his students to pay homage - but they probably do because of the loving time invested.  may bernhard and his students enjoy long life, prosperity, and never having to see a can of spam in their entire lives.

Tough choice as I have long been a fan of winter.  However I am giong to have to choose desks.  I use them everyday and I can't imagine what life would be like without them.

I may live to regret my choice when there is a nuclear war and everyone else is in their underground bunkers dining on Spam while I am stuck in my bunker with a very bitter tasting desk.
