original composition of lau
on: August 31, 2006, 07:06:42 PM
ok, I didn't put much thought into this, as it only took me a couple hours... i'm sure this could be improvised
EDIT: I put a new recording of the same song with an extended ending it's the round dance jingle 1... don't listen to the other one, plus i played this one better
DOULBE EDIT: k, I said download the ROUND DANCE JINGLE 1, not the other one, i see it has been downloaded 2 more times since i said that...thanks for your time

This is very good. Attractive themes, and skillful piano writing. I particularly like the way you expand the texture at the end, covering the entire range of the keyboard. The only thing I didn't like was the unresolved ending.
But this is in line with your personality, perhaps.
If this is what you can do without putting a lot of thought into a piece (improvisation?) then I think you should put just a little thought in next time. Time well spent, and for the listener too.
Oh, and change the pedal with the harmonic/chord changes, it sounds a bit underwater. But that is pianistic, not a compositional suggestion.

wow, I didn't expect such a good compliment. By the way, i think that ending is gold, like the end of the chopin revolutionary etude. But it seems like i can never keep a steady tempo
This is sort of 3/4 written 1/4 improvisation... but it's like this was so easy because it just came to me, but now...I got nothing!
