Strangely, I find the Moonlight 3rd mvt more taxing than this sonata.  Appassionata is definately technically harder though.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

uh... Op.2 No.1?

Or are you referring to the "Appassionata' Sonata Op.57? Because there's a world of difference between them.

Thanks for the reply's, there's some confusion, I am referring to "little appassionata" sonata, not the "Appassionata Sonata"!  Haven't got there yet.  This is Beethoven's earlier work from about 1793-1796, and demonstrates a un developed hand.

Yeah, I figured as much. 'Little Appassionata' is a less-used moniker for Sonata No.1 in F minor, Op.2 No.1.

I personally haven't played it, but what problems are you having with it? Maybe someone else can answer.

Sheesh, this is the first sonata i learnt and performed for an examination at 16 , i love it, the 4th MVT is early Beethoven fury, great place to start. If you tell us what you find difficult we my be able to help.
