Aye. ;D

I used to hate him before but soon found out that he's a really nice guy. You should see his videos on youtube! Humourous!

I'll post some next time when I'm free. ;)

Aye! Lengend.  My favourite thing I've seen him was quite simple.  He sat at the piano and started to play Clair De Lune, but it was in the wrong key, so he looks baffled, and tries a few more times.  Then he gets up and nudges to piano so it slides up a little, and then it plays it again, but correct this time.  Love him lol.

AYE, very much.

The Autumn Leaves sketch is my favourite.

Simple humour, but none the less funny for that.

"In English you use the tongue to make syllables like thUB. In Denmark we use gRRRRrrr, and it is difficult to go from a gRRRRrr to a thUB. A friend of mine tried it the other way thUB gRRRRrrr. He drowned."

"I love this watch. It tells the time, day, month, year and the altitude. Love this watch, can't live without it, although I have. Unfortunately, one hand is missing.

And that becomes a problem, because with only one hand left, how do you know whether it's the big one or the little one? That may be why today is Tuesday the 84th of February.

Last Wednsday was Easter Sunday on this watch. After supper, my neighbor came in and distributed Christmas gifts, because he ALSO has one of these watches.

He has the other hand."

That bit is my favorite too. I also particularly enjoy all the routines with the young soprano he worked with in the 80's and 90's.

And his Rachmaninov Second Concerto, no comedy there. He was an excellent pianist

i saw him in the 70's.  he's never aged as far as i can tell.

he started his show, back then, looking for the seatbelt on the bench.  then, the pages kept falling off the piano - so he'd catch them in mid-air.  some of these humorous things only pianists can relate to...but generally everyone catches the drift.

andre watts is next in line.  he is so sweet and funny and plays well, too.  i think he's got that 'spontaneous-line' thing going. he had a neck brace on the last time we saw him play...but instead of apologizing or anything - he made some kind of joke that immediately got the whole audience laughing.

I would say phonetic punctuation is one of the funniest stand-up routines I have seen, by a pianist or not.

Does anybody know the name of the little Turkish man who he did the Hungarian Rhapsody 2 and Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto 1 with?  That was also hilarious.

Some of my favourite videos at youtube by him are the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No2 duet and 'Dance of the Comedians'. Can't live without him.....

Youtube also has a short on his first debut.

someone: What in the world are you playing?!

I loved the ones with soprano.

You keep your hands of my piano, I keep my hands of your collaratura.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
