Fingering question
on: September 14, 2006, 12:15:00 AM
I'm somewhat new at trying to play piano/keyboard.  I've recently got ahold of score/sheetmusic for Take It To The Limit by the Eagles.  It looks easy enough for me to play, but I seem to be struggling with the fingering.

I don't know the best way to describe the notes/score using text, so I'll attempt using this methodoly:

C4 = middle C

E4 = two keys above middle C

G3 = three keys below middle C

[E4,C4,G3] = notes inside brackets indicate keys to be depressed at same time

So here is the right hand part of the begining to the score for Take It To The Limit by the Eagles:

[E4,C4,G3]
[G4,E4,C4]
[F4]
[E4]
[D4,B4]
[C4,A4]

I'm struggling with trying to figure out the best fingering, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

just a guess, assuming this is the right hand:

3   5   4  2   5   4
2   3
1   2           1    1

it would be helpful to know where the slurs are, to know the phrasing.  If you know the phrasing, then you dont have to worry about combining multiple hand positions.  If this fingering doesnt seem helpful or if I have misunderstood the notes, could you scan the music?  Also, what is the Rhythm?

Thanks for the reply.

No scanner, but a link to the sheet music is:

Also, I only slur when I'm drunk, not sure what you mean about the phrasing (the lyrics?), and since I'm caucasian, I will probably have bad rhythm.  My remarks were meant as jokes, but I honestly don't know what slur, phrasing, and rhythm is.

I will give your fingering recommendation a try, and let you know how it feels.
