horribly played peices revealed
on: September 14, 2006, 01:38:20 AM
i'd like to see the worst performances of peices you have ever seen, preferably on you tube, since that's what works on my computer. This is for my own enjoyment to laugh at, and it raises your confidence on how well you play.... so to start off:

this is someone playing stars and stripes by horowitz... the piccolo part sounds like crappolo (pun)    :D

hahah this thread reminds me of that part in Josef Hofmann's book where he says that you mustnt go thinking you can improve by watching people suck.  He said something about how if you wanted well disciplined kids, you wouldnt send them to visit a bad family for the sake of learning how not to act.

I actually thought that video with the azn guy was pretty good!  It's obvious the guy isnt done learning it yet -he hasnt even got it memorized.  At least he didnt keep going back to repeat stuff, and at the end, you are left feeling the effect of the piece as a whole and not in small, separate parts.  Since all the important stuff is there, I think he showed great potential.

Now, THIS video, brought to you by Jre58591 is a sheer disaster:

Poor Mikhail Rudy!  That's just too embarrassing to even be funny!  It's painful to watch!   ???  And yet...and yet...I find myself watching it over and over.... ;)

Greetings.

Do you have no shame? Is it not enough that the piece should be played poorly, that you should bad mount it with your contumeliousness? Instead try to possibly explain the poor performance and perhaps give advice.

I'd like to advise the Chopin player to tie his right leg to the piano stool when practising for about a month.

The Sousa played with a sort of romantic feeling, well, it's about the best laugh I've had all weekend.  But I'm learning it too so I can sympathise.
