Schumann´s Piano Concerto (Zimerman or Perahia)
on: September 20, 2006, 07:13:31 AM
This is a  hard one beacause both recordings are super IMO.

What do you think?
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

I'd prefer Zimerman and Karajan because there is Zimerman and karajan.

I think the former brings out more of Schumann's essence, than the latter, which shows more personal interpretation.
Bach - Partita No.2
Scriabin - Etude 8/12
Debussy - L'isle Joyeuse
Liszt - Un Sospiro

Goal:
Prokofiev - Toccata

how is it possible to like both more?

frankly I wouldn't listen to either of these recordings. For me there is only one Schumann concerto and that is Fiorentino's version.

Yep, the poll is internally inconsistent.

Not a fan of this concerto.

Dinu Lippati is good.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
