[VIDEO] Scriabin Etude Op. 8, No. 2 in F# minor
on: September 26, 2006, 07:58:54 AM
After making this vid, I noticed I need to push the tempo a bit in places and not hold back as often.  Other than that, please let me know what you think.  I'm playing this in a competition next month.

Thanks,

The sound quality is a little blurry, so I couldn't hear the difference in the opening 2 bars, the tenuto, staccato, accent touches. The legato ties in bars 3 and 4 didn't cause any difference in sound, again, maybe the sound quality, but your hands also didn't reveal those touches in the video. Would be nice to hear a better quality, it would reveal a lot more.

The sound quality isn't that good, but besides that, I think you did a very good job!

Just what you said. Needs more fury.

Made this a lot more coherent to my taste and I think it's ready (haven't recorded it again yet tho).  Tomorrow I'll try and record all of what I'm playing for the competition -- if only for my benefit so I can listen.  I'm flying there on Tuesday, so wish me luck!  I'll try and post a recording of the Chopin etude (10/8) tomorrow as well.

Edit: Not gonna be able to record today... too much to do and practice by tomorrow morning when I leave.  Hopefully someone's gonna record the competition.
